Types of Legacy Gifts
Gifts in Your Will
A bequest is one of the most flexible ways to have a lasting impact on your library. You can include a gift to the Foundation in your will or living trust designating a specific amount, a particular asset, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate once all your other bequests have been fulfilled. With a bequest, you maintain complete control of your assets during your lifetime and can save on income, capital gain, and estate taxes. To help you get started on your plans and legacy, you can use FreeWill, an online tool that guides you through the process of creating your will or trust.
Have you arelady included a gift in your will or trust? Please fill out this form to let us know! We would love to thank you for your generosity and invite you to become a member of our Sno-Isle Libraries Legacy Giving Circle.
Beneficiary Designations
You can designate all or a portion of your insurance policy, or your bank, investment, or retirement account annuity to the Foundation. A beneficiary designation can reduce income and estate taxes leaving more for your loved ones. Use this online tool to make your plans and designate us as a beneficiary of one or more of these assets.
Endowment Gifts
An endowed gift is a self-sustaining, permanent source of funding for the Library. Endowment assets are kept in investment funds, and each year, a small portion of the fund is paid out to support the fund’s purpose. Earnings in excess of this annual distribution are used to build the fund’s market value. In this way, an endowed fund can grow and provide support for its designated purpose in perpetuity. When you establish an endowment fund, or give to an existing endowment, you create a permanent legacy of support for Sno-Isle Libraries.
