RECENT WEBINAR

Many of us have been there for parents and other loved ones as they have grown older. It is often through these experiences that we begin to recognize the wisdom of planning for our own health, legal, and financial concerns, as well as housing considerations.

There’s no crystal ball, but this seminar will help participants draft a road map for anticipating and proactively planning for their enlightened aging.

The Power of Planning is a 75-minute, interactive seminar where you can benefit from the knowledge and expertise of Katie Marrs, an Elder Law Attorney, and Lisa Mayfield, a Certified Care Manager. These experienced advisors will help you prepare for both the predictable as well as the What Ifs of aging.

We’ll cover:

  • Legal considerations and the essential legal documents everyone should have in place
  • Options for long-term care if you experience health, mobility, or memory changes
  • Cost considerations
  • Finding the right supports to help you navigate decision-making

You can also review their presentation at your own pace by reading through the slides, found here:

Presenters:

Katie Marrs’s practice focuses on disability and elder law, including benefits advocacy and long term care planning, guardianship, estate planning, and probate. Katie started her practice of Elder Law at Northwest Elder Law Group, PLLC, and then became an associate of Brothers & Henderson, P.S. in April of 2021. Katie was named as a Rising Star by Washington Law & Politics for 2023. While not at work, Katie enjoys spending her time with her husband, son, and two cats.

Lisa Mayfield founded Aging Wisdom® in 2003, an Aging Life Care agency in the Seattle area. She is a Past President of the Aging Life Care Association and brings over two decades of experience guiding clients in navigating unexpected health or memory changes as well as empowering proactive planning. As a trained mediator, Lisa also helps families find common ground when they might not agree on the best approach to supporting aging parents. When not working, Lisa enjoys yoga, Pilates, and laughing with friends and family.
